3D PRINTED OBJECT

3D Printed Object: Here we have a 3D Printed Linux Penguin
What is a 3D Printed Object?

Basically a 3D printed object is simply what comes out of a 3D printer. In other words a 3D print out. A 3D printer is programmed with a 3D model, then it cuts parts off of a block material until it forms the object. It's like computerized sculpting.

LINUX MENTAL BLOCK

This is your brain. This is your brain on Linux.

DO YOU HAVE A LINUX MENTAL BLOCK?
Do you have a Mental Block?

This post is for all you wimps that declare that "Linux is too complicated" or "Linux is only for computer nerds". Nothing could be farther from the whole truth. I say that because it all depends on which version of Linux you are using. There is Ubuntu designed for airheads that only know how to use a smart phone. There's Linux Mint* for those who like it simple with options to grow as you learn more. And then there's versions like Arch Linux that you really do have to be a computer nerd to fully appreciate.

*Linux Mint is actually based off of Ubuntu, but it comes with several different user interface options that don't insult your intelligence. However, I really do love Ubuntu. I just don't like their choice for default interface.

HOT SELFIE - LINUX STYLE

Lisa decides to take a hot selfie in her yoga pants at 3:00 in the morning.

To Selfie or Not To Selfie. That is the Question.

I know you know what a selfie is, but what really is a selfie? People have been doing selfies for as long as man has had the ability to create images. They used to call them self-portraits. What artist do you know of that didn't create at least one self-portrait (artistic selfie).

A Picasso Selfie? - This self-portrait was drawn in 1907 - Experts are stunned by the cell phone in his hand. How did he know?

What is the physiological drive behind a self photo? Maybe it's the desire to see how you look to the outside world so you take the photo. Then after reviewing the photo and you like what you see, you then decide to publish worldwide. Then again, after looking at some selfies posted on the Internet. I tend to think there was not much thought put into the process. In any case, here's to all the selfies out there. You had enough courage (or stupidity) to put yourself out there for the whole world to appreciate (or laugh at).

WHY ARE YOU SO SERIOUS?

Why do most models in selfie photos have such a serious look on their face? Answer: It's simple. It takes lots of concentration to setup and take a selfe photo. The self-photographer is usually so focused on getting the photo framed just right that they forget to smile.

NEXT: SPANISH LESSON FOR TODAY

How to say "Selfie" in spanish. Selfie in spanish is "Auto-Fotografía". On the subject of auto-fotografía, here are a couple of fine examples of auto-fotografía.

LATE NIGHT COMPUTING

Lisa does her best work at 3 in the morning

Late Night Computer Work - Computer-holics?

This post is for all you late night computer programmers, hackers, and artists. It is you who create all the cool stuff whether it's the latest video game, animated movie, or deviant art.

I think there is something about those late hours (sometimes very early hours) that sparks creativity in human beings. So take a chug of your energy drink (preferably Linux Beast Energy Drink) and get back to work. The night is still young!!!

Just out of curiosity, what was the first thing you noticed in the above picture. Was it the computerized wire framed penguin? Was it the energy drink? Or did the hot yoga pants catch your eye? Or was it something else? Please leave your answer in the comment section below.

GET YOUR NEW SMART PHONE

SMART GUY USES SMART PHONE

SMART PHONE, SMART PHONE, GET YOUR NEW SMART PHONE

I'm watching TV and that man tells me I need a new smartphone, because my current phone is so outdated. It's so 2013.

This reminds me of the old Rolling Stones song Satisfaction when they poke fun at Radio and TV advertising.

How white is your shirt?

"And that man comes on the radio
And he's tellin' me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination

 When I'm watchin' my TV
And that man comes on to tell me
How white my shirts can be"

THERE'S A NEW PHONE - GET IN LINE SHEEPLE!

Time to get your new smartphone! Get in line!

I think smart phones are stupid. They can cause neck and back pain. They can cause car accidents. They serve as a dog leash for your wife/husband/employer or whoever wants to track you. But hey, don't listen to me. You better get in line before you lose your place!

FORK YOU!

New 2014 Linus Torvalds portrait artwork

Linux Line Art - Linus Torvalds

For those that don't know, Mr. Linus Torvalds is the founding father of the operating system called Linux. He led the development of the Linux Kernel. He was born in 1969, so he is still relatively young. Linux is based on a system of updates called software forks. The artwork is a humorous combination of Linus Torvalds flipping off (or throwing a finger) with fork substituted for the F word.

EATS MONSTERS FOR BREAKFAST

Linux Beast energy drink is not your conventional energy drink!

Linux-Beast Energy Drink - It's what you reach for at 3 am.

Linux Beast Energy Drink - It's what you reach for at 3 am.

Linux Beast - the energy drink designed for hard core computer users

Announcing a new face in the Energy Drink market. It's called the Beast. The Linux Beast that is and it comes loaded with caffeine, caramel color, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, and some special artificial secret ingredients to keep you going when other energy drinks fail. The beast is specifically designed for late night computer users that not only need to stay awake, but also need cognitive abilities to solve programing problems, construct 3D models, or create computer art.

The Linux Beast energy drink is a new type of energy drink called a virtual energy drink. It's a very simple procedure. First you visit a website that has a high resolution version of the Linux Beast can. Next, you grab your favorite drink for example, water, and then you drink while staring at the picture of the Linux Beast can. The harmful ingredients like, caffeine and sugar, stay with the original can so you only get the psychological effects of the energy drink with no side effects except for maybe a little eye strain. Note: Results may very from person to person.

The Linux Beast virtual drink will be coming soon to a website near you. Simply use Google or your favorite search engine and search for: Linux Beast energy drink.

And then there's the conventional energy drinks:

Conventional drinks such as Rockstar, RedBull, Monster, Burn, and Full Throttle

These young ladies drink nothing but Rockstar!

HOT LINUX NERDS

Does wearing glasses and using Linux make me a nerd?
Are you a Linux Nerd? Well, with Linux desktop suites like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, PCLinuxOS, Zorin, and many others, you don't have to be a nerd to love and use Linux anymore!
This guy actually had a pretty cool setup for back in the day

If you prefer to use Arch Linux, then that might automatically make your a Linux nerd.
If you visit Distro-Watch on a daily basis, then you might be a Linux nerd.
If you enjoy typing sudo commands into your Linux terminal screen, then, yes, you are a nerd.

And last but not least is a guy who is very nerdy and there's not doubt he runs Linux. Just look at the photo below:

He's got Linux bumper stickers and a Linux licence plate!

CAN YOUR PRINTER DO THIS?

The 3D Printed Penguin Wallpaper is now available!
Just think, one day 3D printers will be as common as ink jet printers. And instead of having to drive down to the Dollar store to pick up a cheap stuffed animal, you can simple hit the print button on your computer. Let's compare that for a second. Instead of spending 30 minutes and 10 dollars on a cheap plastic toy, you can now spend several days staring at your computer screen building a computer model and thousands of dollars on a printer. You saved neither time nor money, but hey, you didn't have to leave the house. No, but seriously, I think the ability to print out your 3D creations at home is a very exciting and powerful way of the future.

NOT ANOTHER LINUX PENGUIN?

New Linux Cartoon Penguin for 2015

I decided to create a new Linux Penguin for the up coming year. Yeah, I know there’s a lot of tux birds out there, but hey, why not keep it fresh every year. And don’t worry, I’m not trying to get rid of the original. Besides, with the hard core loyalty of Linux fans, that would be utterly impossible anyway. Have fun with the image. Feel free to share and post wherever you like.
